Together

On wintry day, as I drove,
On mountainous terrain, on deserted road,
From the clouds, the moon emerged,
And my paradise was rediscovered.

Oh, it was glorious today, sweetheart,
When the snowy mountains, the moonlight touched,
As gentle as you fondling had been,
With tender stroke, it so effectively pleased.

December’s fresh snow, the moonlight did caress,
So lovingly, they were a perfect match,
The moonlight and snow went together,
They were a twin—in charm and color.

This is no fantasy, not a dreamy fable,
This was an experience, which was very much real,
And let me tell you that it was ethereal,
Made me remember the times when we were together…

Oh, my angel, flawless as virginal snow, pearly white,
All aglow, on moonlit night,
I was reminded of how you were pure-minded,
You were smooth ice, never corrupted.

I wish I had been like the loving moon,
Cuddling the snow, with ardent love, true,
But to you, I turned scorching sun,
Melting your sensitive soul---a cruel burn.

When so enchanting a day, disappeared,
When the moon’s intent was realized,
The snow melted, ‘twas soon gone,
Even after searches, he was never found…

Aha, but moon stars now at the mountains, barren,
Where the snow once covered, every single cavern,
The moon has understood its mistake today,
But is it already too late?

Oh, come back, into the loving moonlight,
Come back, O brilliant one, come and shine,
Because the moon and the snow go together,
Just like this December breeze and cold winter…

30th December, 2009.
