Insincere

Did you think I was insincere, when those words I spoke?
Based on one stolen message, everything you judged?
I know you are a thinker, my dear,
But I’m only asking you to think a little deeper.

With your philosophy, you put Aristotle to shame,
But you also pierce me, when you continue to blame,
A mistake, is always a mistake,
But know that, I wasn’t insincere, in any way.

Open year eyes, a little bit wider,
Search your memories, from them, infer,
One single mistake, was it all, it took?
To declare that I was insincere, to close the book?

Reconsider again, go back and think,
You might be of the opinion that there is nothing to say, but don’t let this sink,
Please go back, and think well, and think hard,
And you’ll know that I haven’t been insincere.

No, I wasn’t insincere, I’m sad you thought so,
No, I wasn’t insincere; I was just out of my mind,
Please think hard, think like me,
And I only hope that you will see…

I didn’t want to be insincere, to the one I worship,
With true devotion, I never wanted to trip,
But things happen; it was a terrible mistake,
But I wasn’t insincere, that was not what it meant.

Please look up; please come back to me,
Please open your eyes wider, please see,
Please don’t run away, so coyly,
Please, I never meant to be insincere to you, forgive me!
